Muscle Up Your Mental Health

2024 MUSCLE UP YOUR MENTAL HEALTH FORUM | APRIL 27TH 2024

Welcome!

At Samar Healthcare, our mission is to create a safe and supportive space for men of all ages seeking advice, emotional support, therapeutic solutions, and professional guidance on mental health and wellness matters. We are dedicated to this cause and work tirelessly to achieve it.

The Muscle Up Your Mental Health Forum was created with the aim of providing a safe dialogue space! We realized there was a gap, an unmet need for African American men and men of African descent to express their struggles without fear of judgment. Our goal is to foster an environment where men can come together and openly discuss topics such as depression, anxiety, stress management, and relationship issues. By doing so, we hope to provide them with the necessary tools and resources to navigate through life.

Our ultimate goal is to build a strong community where we empower each other through shared experiences and knowledge. We believe that by helping each other, we not only overcome struggles but also gain insights, learn coping strategies, and prevent these struggles from defining our identities.

What is Muscle Up Your Mental Health?

An annual event that brings together African American men and men of African descent. This event helps...

Create a safe space for them to have a dialogue about mental health matters

Bring together subject matter experts who provide the tools and resources needed to navigate this life.

African American men to seek help from people trained to help.

Reduce the stigma around men's mental health and unleash a new way of thinking by creating strong coping mechanisms that help them reach their life goals.

Men discover the inner self-talk that is draining and producing the inner critic and instead reintroduce them to a “whole” energized self.

Discover the inner self-talk that is draining you and producing inner critical of yourself by reintroducing you to a “whole” energized self.

DR. MARY MURANJA

Welcome to the Muscle Up Your Mental Health Forum! For many years, I have had a dream of offering mental health and wellness resources to those in our communities that need them the most.

My passion for seeing men in our society receiving the help and resources they need to combat mental illnesses in their lives and the lives of their loved ones is what birthed the Muscle Up Your Mental Health Forum.
I have witnessed and seen some of the struggles men have to go through, where they are usually overlooked because they are expected to possess certain characteristics seen as masculine. As the Convener, I wholeheartedly believe that if we have solid families, we will have healthy and stable communities, and if we have healthy and stable communities, we will have a resilient society. It all starts with a dialogue!

My team and I are excited to welcome you to the next Muscle Up Your Mental Health Forum, and we look forward to plenty of discussions throughout the day and beyond. We strive to create a safe and supportive space for men of all ages who are looking for advice, support, solutions, and guidance on mental health and wellness matters. We believe in fostering an environment where men can come together and openly discuss topics such as depression, anxiety, stress management, relationship issues, and more.
Our ultimate goal is to empower each other through shared experiences and knowledge so that we may help each other overcome struggles and not let your struggle become your identity.
